Torö stenstrand(stone beach)
4.7 + AW = 120'
4.2 + AW = 60'
5.3 + AW = 60'
The day started bad, got worse and ended pretty good.
The bad
When we had packed Mats surf van with three kits and two SUP boards it refused start. Gaaah! We repacked and got on the road.
Worse
When we arrived at Torö the wind was dead onshore - not any fun if you ask me. I tried to launch three times with no success. Mats broke a mast and thrashed his sail on his first try. When I finally got out on my 4.2 m2 sail I was way underpowered. No fun! At least not when the mast high waves dumped top to bottom and you had no means to escape it with.
I managed to get a shore with my kit intact. This is no small achivement since the beach consists of all pebbles and the odd boulder. This place is the most hard core wave sailing spot in Sweden.
Tooootally exhausted - I hate sailing this place in onshore conditions.
The good
As predicted the winds went from south to west south west and almost side shore conditions. I was on the water as quick as possible. And this time I managed to get out rather fast. I had some good waves. But the wind was dying a bit too fast. So I went inside and rigged my 5.3. It wasn't quite enough. I had to schlogg going out but was able to catch a few waves going in.
Mats helps me out when my kit arrived faster to shore than me.
