Varamon, Motala
4.2 + AW = 45'
Roxen
4.2 + AW = 105'
"Bomkörning" = going for a road trip to a presumed killer session and ending up with either bad wind conditions or a lousy spot.
Oscar and some of the others went over to sweden's second biggest lake to score som ok-ish waves. Oscar reported from Sjövik that there were no waves and went up to Motala's Varamon. I went over as fast as I could hoping to score since the wind was good.
Got there and rigged my 4.2. 45 minutes later I was kind of pissed off - no waves to ride and no waves to jump on. Only random lumps breaking. By the shore where the waves shaped up nicely there were no wind. Out in the bay where the wind was blowing on and off there were no waves worth mentioning.
Varamon sucks, big time! Iv'e tried to score there a number of ocassions - zero success!
Quite a bit frustrated I went home to dear old Roxen. What a difference! The wind was steadily howling. From almost planing in Varamon I went to Roxens seriously overpowered conditions. 20-25 m/s and the biggest waves I've seen since 19 87. Very brutal sailing. Gustav pushed me to whip out some forwardloops. Scary!
